Bass
Guitar
A bass guitar is a type of musical instrument that usually has
four strings that emit tones at lower frequencies when plucked. Some bass guitars have five, six, seven, or even
more strings. Some bass guitars even have two necks. However, the average, standard bass guitar is an electric
instrument that features four strings, one or more pickups, a volume control, and tuning knobs.
Bass guitars need different strings than a guitar. A guitar has much
skinnier strings on it that emit tones at higher frequencies. Actually, the two play the same
notes. In fact, standard tuning for the four fattest strings on a six
string guitar are tuned the same as the four strings on a standard-tuned bass.
It is just that the sounds are at different frequencies. A bass
guitar and a six string guitar played together give a much wider range of sound than two guitars, which is why
almost every band or musical group has a bass in its lineup.
In rock music, for example, there are usually five pieces. A drumset, two guitars (or one guitar
and a keyboard), a vocalist, and a bass guitar. There are both acoustic and electric basses, though electric bass
guitars are a lot more widely used than acoustic models.

Blue grass and gospel music sometimes use upright basses, though these are not technically bass
guitars. With electric bass guitars, you can get a much better, higher quality sound with a lot less effort.
There are many different brands of bass guitars on the market,
including models of the left handed bass
guitar. Some of them are inexpensive, while some are very high-end.
Usually, the more you pay for a bass, the better it will be,
though there is a point where you are just paying for a brand name or a particular style once you reach a certain
amount.
